Kings Dominion!

We went to Kings Dominion yesterday with Nana, Aunt Carrie, and cousins Trevor, Lilly, & Ryan! They had so much fun on all the kiddie rides. They were very excited to see the rides and even more excited once we put them on the rides. When they first started moving, I think they were both a little surprised. But lucky for us, it was a HAPPY surprise!

Unfortunately we didn't get any photos in the pool area. They sort of melted after lunch and had no interest in getting wet. However, once they both took a little cat-nap, they were super happy all over again and enjoyed the toddler water area. We'll have to remember to get photos next time since we were too busy chasing them around this time!

Here is a video of the last ride we put them on. They were a little small for the ride, but it was a strap-them-in sort of ride and we knew they would more than likely enjoy it just like all the other rides. I sort of wonder, though, if they could really even see anything. They were probably just happily playing with the seat belt the whole time. ha ha.

Kung Foo Fighting!

We used to do an over-exaggerated "hi-ya" to the song kung-foo fighting to make the boys smile and laugh for the camera. Drew apparently picked that up because here is what he was doing when the song came on recently. He started doing this on his own but we were trying to keep him going by saying the "hi-ya" for motivation.

Into EVERYTHING!

So the boys are officially into absolutely everything not tied down. I wish I had the camera all the times I have caught them in places they shouldn't be.
For example, a couple days ago while I was setting up lunch around the corner from the kitchen, I walked in on Jake sitting IN the dishwasher trying to drink from a dirty cup and Drew holding 2 forks and swinging them around over his head. Unfortunately I had to take care of the situation rather than capturing it on film.
Another example is I left the living area to take the recycling out and when I came back in Drew had gotten into our pantry. He was just sitting there happily swinging a box of cereal over his head... but then I walked over to the other side of the island to see a box of pasta opened and spilled all over the floor in addition to the entire contents of our Costco-sized mini muffins all over the other side of the island as well. Jake was just giggling when he saw me walking in. He sort of was just standing on the sidelines and I wondered if he might have been the mastermind behind the whole operation.

And here is what I actually DID catch on tape this morning. Not such a mess as much as a very funny ending. ENJOY...and welcome to my life...

Firetruck!

Today we went to visit Harry and his firetrucks. At first all the boys wanted to do was run around the trucks... I'm not even too sure they understood they were standing among those things they scream about all day long in books, toys, and dvds. They also hung out with all the firefighters in their firehouse and ate donuts with them (ha ha!). We were able to get a few photos of them with Harry just as we were leaving.

Busy boys!

We have been very busy getting into everything lately. Here is the most recent place the boys have discovered to play.

Jake has actually figured out how to climb into Drew's crib in the nursery. He gets himself onto the glider and then pulls himself up and over the railings. I am sure it is only a matter of time before he figured out how to climb OUT of his own crib! But at least we have our toddler car beds ready and waiting! And Drew has been very busy doing A LOT of dancing lately and he often even says the word "dance" while he's doing it. Here are a couple videos of him dancing to some of his more favorite songs.

FINALLY!

Ok ok ok... so I hear there are few of you out there wondering why we haven't had pictures posted recently... ha ha. It's great that so many of you actually look at our photos... I guess I didn't realize so many people do! woo hoo! My excuse is that they were actually sick for over 15 days with some sort of unknown viral, sinus, snot, cough, congestion bug. It was horrible and they even had up to 104 degree temps. However, now we are all healthy and ready to run in the nice weather this weekend! Daddy is in Vegas winning us some toys (aka money) and we are at home with Mommy, Nana, and Poppy!

One nap or two?

We are at that in-between stage of taking one or two naps depending on what is on the agenda for the day. The plan was for one nap today, but after much fussing from Drew starting at around 9am, we decided that today would need to be a 2-nap day. Jake was quietly reading books while I went upstairs to put Drew down. When I came back down to get Jake and see if he was ready to take his nap too, this is what I saw when I came around the corner:
He may have been trying to tell me something. What do you think?

By the way - if you happen to notice the Bathing Suit Calendar on the floor, that is a present from Daddy when he went to a Caps game. The Wizards girls were there signing calendars so he picked one up for the boys.... here is a photo of Drew a few minutes before I took him up for his nap:
