One nap or two?

We are at that in-between stage of taking one or two naps depending on what is on the agenda for the day. The plan was for one nap today, but after much fussing from Drew starting at around 9am, we decided that today would need to be a 2-nap day. Jake was quietly reading books while I went upstairs to put Drew down. When I came back down to get Jake and see if he was ready to take his nap too, this is what I saw when I came around the corner:

He may have been trying to tell me something. What do you think?

By the way - if you happen to notice the Bathing Suit Calendar on the floor, that is a present from Daddy when he went to a Caps game. The Wizards girls were there signing calendars so he picked one up for the boys.... here is a photo of Drew a few minutes before I took him up for his nap:

Have YOU heard the screeching?

For those of you who don't see the boys on a regular basis, you might be slightly surprised that they both screech very very loudly (like a girl, honestly) whenever something doesn't quite go their way. Jake was the original screecher, but Drew seems to have caught on pretty well. Here is a video that is actually a very mellow version of what sometimes comes out of Jake when he gets mad. He is also saying his version of the word "car" with much coaching by Mommy throughout the video. This is one of the two toddler beds that we recently bought for only $25! We won't be using them too soon but I couldn't pass on such a deal since we know the boys LOVE anything about cars/vehicles. This particular bed will just be a climbing toy for a little while and the other one will be in storage.
"Enjoy" the screeching... you might want to actually turn your speakers DOWN! ha ha.

Our new TRICYCLES!

We got some new tricycles at our local consignment sale and we had some great weather to try them out (after it finished raining).
WE LOVE THEM!

Dance Floor

We got a few things from IKEA and of course it all comes in a flat box. We put one of the pieces on the floor and the boys decided it was a dance floor. Drew has been bopping up and down to dance for a few weeks now but Jake just started doing it today on this "floor" and we actually got his first "dance steps" on video!

Shorts?

Even though we just had our biggest snow of the year a few days ago and it is a mere 9 degrees outside, we decided to break out a pair of the shorts I bought for the boys. Why not? It's in the 70s in our house. I am just dying to be sure I have bought the right size(s) because they are currently wearing sizes based on their age (surprise, surprise!). In the past they have usually had to wear about double their age in size... but I guess all this running around has made them a little more "normal" in size.
We stocked up on tons of stuff at the end of the summer season last year for this year and unfortunately we bought some stuff way too big, but I think we will be able to get away at least with all the shorts being a little big... they are kind of cute being so long... what do you think? The models sure don't seem to mind.

First BIG snow!

Last year we were never able to take the boys out in the snow... of course, who really wants to take a 4 month old baby (or 2) out in the snow anyway?
So the boys got to enjoy their FIRST snow experience today. But I don't think "enjoy" would the word to describe the fussing that occurred while getting dressed in the millions of layers, the lack of smiling that happened while being pulled around in their uber-cool double sled, and their dis-interest in walking, touching, or doing anything with the snow.
But we did capture a few videos of their first sled rides that maybe YOU can enjoy! :)
